Conditions for Parallel Operation of Three-Phase Transformers

The conditions for satisfactory parallel operation of three-phase transformers are as follows 

          1.The parallel connected transformers should have same polarities.

  • 2. The parallel connected transformers must have identical primary and secondary voltage ratings.

  • 3. The winding reactances to the resistances ratios in the parallel connected transformers should be the same.

  • 4. The phase s equence of all the parallel connected transformers must be the same.

  • 5. The phase shift between the primary and secondary voltages must be the same for all the parallel connected transformers  6.All the parallel connectd transformers should be in the same vector group.
