Pneumatic Solenoid Valve

Pneumatic Solenoid Valve A solenoid valve, also known as an electrically-operated valve, is a valve that uses electromagnetic force to operate. When an electrical current is passed through the solenoid coil, a magnetic field is generated which causes a ferrous metal rod to move. This is the basic process that opens the valve and it works either directly or indirectly on the air. Solenoid valves can be normally open or normally closed: Normally Open (N/O) , the valve remains open when the solenoid is not charged. Normally Closed (N/C) , the valve remains closed when the solenoid is not charged. Why use a solenoid valve? Solenoid valves eliminate the need for manual or pneumatic control of a pneumatic circuit and only require an electrical input (and air pressure for piloted valves) to operate, this makes them easy to program and install in a wide variety of applications. What are the different types of solenoid valve? As we shall see, solenoid valves can be split into the followin...

DIGITAL MULTIMETER

Image
Digital multimeter is a test equipment which offers several electronic measurement tasks in one tool. It is also known as the voltmeter or ohm meter . The standard and basic measurements performed by multimeter are the measurements of amps, volts, and ohms. Apart from that, these digital multimeters perform many additional measurements by using digital and logic technology. These may include temperature, frequency, continuity, capacitance etc. The new improved integrated circuits of digital multimeter are more efficient, faster and work with a large accuracy. features, including the ability to log and graph data and great for troubleshooting. RESISTOR COLOUR CODING

Image
What is Resistor Colour Code? Resistors are usually very tiny, and it is challenging to print resistance values on them. So, colour bands are printed on them to represent the electrical resistance. These colour bands are known as resistor colour codes. The resistor colour code was invented in the 1920s by the Radio Manufacturers Association (RMA). All leaded resistors with a power rating up to one watt are marked with colour bands. They are given by several bands and together they specify the resistance value, the tolerance rate and sometimes the reliability or failure rates. The number of bands present in a  resistor  varies from three to six.  The first two bands indicate the resistance value and the third band serves as a multiplier . In this piece of article, let us discuss how to read resistor colour codes, look at an example and learn a mnemonic to remember the number sequence.
